Dear Unknown Sir

After five years of self-imposed isolation, Dr. Yahya begins working at the Abbasiya Psychiatric Hospital. There, in "Ward 8 West"—the unit that determines the fate of those who have committed grave acts—he encounters a surprise: an old friend from a past he had long struggled to forget. Suddenly, this friend’s fate rests entirely in Yahya’s hands. A series of shocking revelations turns Yahya’s life upside down, transforming what began as an attempt to uncover the truth about his friend into a journey of self-discovery—or, at least, a discovery of what remains of himself. In this, his third novel, Ahmed Mourad takes us behind the scenes of a strange world—one whose details he spent two years researching—inviting us to explore the deepest, most enigmatic recesses of the human psyche.
